Copyright policy.

Last updated · August 2026

We make our own recipes and photographs, and we expect the same respect for other people's work that we'd ask for ours. If you believe something on BetterDinnerPlans infringes your copyright, here is exactly how to tell us and exactly what we'll do about it.

Our designated agent

We have a designated agent registered with the U.S. Copyright Office to receive claims of infringement:

Copyright Agent, Wallace Digital LLC
PO Box 323
Daytona Beach, FL 32115
(813) 434-3579
contact@betterdinnerplans.net

How to send a takedown notice

Email contact@betterdinnerplans.net (or write to the agent above) with the subject line "Copyright notice" and include all of the following (the DMCA requires each one for a notice to be valid):

  • Identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed;
  • The exact location of the material on our site (a link to the page is perfect), with enough detail for us to find it;
  • Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address;
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn't authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
  • A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for them;
  • Your physical or electronic signature.
What we do when a valid notice arrives
  • We remove or disable access to the identified material promptly.
  • We notify the person who posted it and send them a copy of the notice.
  • We record the strike — see "Repeat infringers" below.
If your content was removed: counter-notice

If you believe your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address, including: identification of the removed material and where it appeared; your name, address, and phone number; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the removal was a mistake; your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found); and your physical or electronic signature.

On receiving a valid counter-notice we'll forward it to the original claimant, and we'll restore the material in ten to fourteen business days — unless the claimant notifies us first that they've filed a court action about it.

Repeat infringers

Accounts that repeatedly post infringing material are terminated. That's both our policy and a promise we keep — it's written into the Terms of Use, and we enforce it.

A note on recipes

A bare list of ingredients isn't protected by copyright — but written directions, photographs, and the creative expression of a recipe are. Ours are original work; if you share them, share a link. If you post someone else's work here, make sure you have the right to.
